Like Many, I want to go see Iron Man 2 this weekend, and from looking at the trailers, it looks very good. Its already become the widest film release in history, and has made $120 million in foreign markets, and has made $52 million in it’s first day of release here in North America. But its not getting the amazing reviews that the first film had. The film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reports that 71% of critics gave the film a positive review, compared to the first Iron Man film which has a 93% rating. People saying pretty much the same bad review that Avatar had: that it doesn’t have a very original storyline. But the rest is great. I also read an article from the UK newspaper The Guardian, and in it’s review of the film, they say that they don’t see anyone else playing Tony Stark other than Robert Downey Jr. I couldn’t agree more. This role was tailored for him and he does the comic book proud. I think everyone thought that all the major superheroe movies were already made in movies. Batman, Superman, Spiderman, X-Men, and Fantastic 4 were all made, but no one ever talked about Iron Man. It was a suprise hit that is now going to be a Billion-dollar franchise.
Iron Man 2: Will it be better than the first?
