CBS, CW Pickups

CBS is on a roll, and that roll is going to stay for another year.

After many disappointments by the major networks, CBS managed to have all of their rookie shows perform very well in their time slots. They announced that all of their 5 new shows that premiered just last month, will be getting the “back 9” order to have a full season. Hawaii Five-0, Mike & Molly, S#!% My Dad Says, The Defenders, and Blue Bloods have all been ordered to have full seasons. All except The Defenders have had stellar debuts and have surprisingly kept their audience throughout these tough 4 weeks.

The CW has also had a pretty good season. They’ve given their freshman shows Nikita and Hellcats full season orders and already gave The Vampire Diaries a full season order last season. Still no word on Life Unexpected, which was on the verge of cancellation last year and has been performing so badly this year that it’s certain to be canceled.

So far NBC, CBS, and The CW have given full season orders. ABC and Fox still haven’t announced anything except cancellations (My Generation, Lone Star) but they should be announcing pickups (or cancellations) in the coming weeks.
