1. Friday Night Lights Series Finale
In what might be the scariest day of my TV life, the Friday Night Lights series finale is quickly approaching. Five seasons and 76 episodes mark for an incredible run. Michael Ausiello’s reaction tweets to the finale said it all (“I’m a wreck. Ending destroyed me.”, “Yes. Ending was perfect.”) and I will probably have the same reaction. I’m too scared to read any spoilers or even the synopsis of the episode; I’m seriously dreading this day, and so should you. I was going to place the Grammys at the top spot, but then I thought this: Grammys come and go, but there will never be a show like Friday Night Lights. I know I made the right choice. The finale airs this Wednesday at 9 exclusively on DirecTV.
2. The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards
Were halfway through this awards season (2 down, 2 to go!), and this could be the funnest (and craziest) of all with all of the crazy musical performances. B.o.B, Eminem, Cee-Lo, Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum-who will win record of the year? And also, it’s one of the most competitive Best New Artist nominations in years; will Drake take it? Florence+The Machine? Will Justin Bieber pull out a huge upset? Who knows, all I know is that Lady Gaga’s performance at this years ceremony is going to kick Grammy ass.
3. FX’s Justified
TV’s best single-cop drama returns this Wednesday after a very long 8 month break with tons of drama and more of that soft-spoken justice from U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. His very crazy hometown of Harlan County is filled with very racist people with crazy antics which causes for tons of drama and may I say, fun.
4. Fox’s The Chicago Code
Already getting great reviews from critics, it’s set to be the best new show coming out of the Midseason. Tim Gilatto from People Weekly gave a glowing review saying, “Jennifer Beals gives a revelatory, no-nonsense performance that should make Tom Selleck’s mustache bristle with envy” and that the show “should be lots of fun.” I agree. I saw the trailer for the show and it looks fantastic: A crime drama about a female police superintendent and her police force trying to bring down a nearly untouchable corrupt alderman who is connected to gangs and the mafia. I can’t wait for this show, it just sounds fantastic.
5. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
I will probably get some heat for this, but you cannot deny that this kid is very talented. His story is also very inspiring, and those are two very great components to making an amazing film. Early reviews of the movie have been positive, and if the film is solid, this could be just one of the many successes that this young artist will have in this career. Never Say Never comes out in 3D this Friday, January 4th.
That’s a wrap! Stay tuned next week for an all-new Most Wanted List!
